It led to an easy nighttime for the Spurs.
Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge each had 17 stations and seven comebacks, and San Antonio accommodated the Hornets to 37 percentage shooting in a unbalanced 106 -8 6 victory.
“That was a very difficult errand for the Hornets, ” Popovich said. “It’s like, basically unjustified. Coming back after is available on Cleveland, getting back that late and then having to play a seven o’clock recreation, that’s a so difficult turnaround. All of us dislike that special consider. We all have to go through it, but we caught a breach tonight.”
Hornets coach Steve Clifford agreed.
Sensing the Hornets had a chance to beat the Gentleman on Friday night, Clifford represented his starters extensively in the second half. The Hornets forgot 100 -9 9 to the Cavs and it eventually may have expensed them the game against the Spurs, too.
The energy the Hornets played with at Cleveland was not there, and it seemed to show early on as they missed various categories of open shots while killing 22 percent in the first half.

The Hornets entered the game 7-2 at the Spectrum Center, but missed 35 of 45 shootings in the first half and fell behind by 11 at the burst. They could never make a serious run at the Spurs.
Kemba Walker, who left the game briefly in the third one-quarter with a left shoulder gash, returned to finish with 18 stations on 8-of-12 shooting. He didn’t get much promotion as Charlotte’s four other starters — Nic Batum, Dwight Howard, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams — were a combined 6 of 29 from the field.
The Hornets trimmed the lead to 50 -4 2 in the third largest fourth, but the Spurs responded with a 9-0 flow pointed out by Kyle Anderson’s steal and dunk. Charlotte could never cut the lead to single toes after that point.
“Just ball movement, attaining the extra pass, trying to are going to the rim and simply finding the open guy, ” Aldridge said.

Hornets: Howard was penalized $35,000 by the NBA earlier in the day after making an smutty gesture to a supporter during Friday night’s 100 -9 9 loss at Cleveland . …. Howard has 244 comebacks, the most any Charlotte player has had through the first 19 recreations of a season.
There was a frightening moment in the third one-quarter when Walker went down with a left shoulder hurt after conflicting with Aldridge on a screen. Walker remained on the flooring in the fetal post for about a minute before being cured up and taken to the locker room. He was diagnosed with a bruised left shoulder and returned to the game afterward in the one-quarter, but the Hornets were already down by 15.
Clifford said he expressed a exhale of relief when he saw Walker return to the bench.
Gasol smelt the Hornets were a little down when Walker left for the cupboard room.
“It seemed like it was something that potentially could have been something serious, then he comes back and he registers no clue of anything, ” Gasol said. “I don’t know exactly what happened there but he’s their starting point protect and their best player.”
The first fourth might have been one of the ugliest of the season for both teams. The Hornets preceded 15 -1 4 after 12 minutes despite thumping merely 5 of 23 shots from the field. The Spurs weren’t much better, proselytizing only 6 of 23.
